Chapter 4: A New Beginning

Chapter 4: A New Beginning
"Victoria Vance, Cassandra Sterling, you are under arrest for corporate fraud, embezzlement, and the first-degree murder of Arthur Vance," the lead FBI agent announced, his voice cutting through the chaos.
Cassandra began to scream hysterically, trying to rip off her veil as the agents grabbed her arms and handcuffed her. Victoria tried to maintain her composure, shouting threats about her high-priced lawyers, but her hands shook violently as the cold steel of the handcuffs locked around her wrists. The elite crowd watched in absolute shock as the two powerful women were dragged down the wedding aisle in disgrace, their legacy shattered forever.
As the commotion began to clear, Julian stood at the altar, a heavy weight finally lifting from his chest. The church doors opened once more, and a soft, warm light poured into the sanctuary.
Walking down the aisle was Clara. She wasn't wearing a stained, ruined gown, nor was she hiding in a servant’s uniform. She wore a stunning, elegant emerald-green silk dress, her long dark hair cascading beautifully over her shoulders. She walked with the confidence of a woman who had fought through hell and emerged victorious.
Julian didn't hesitate. He ran down the altar steps, meeting her halfway down the aisle. In front of the remaining guests and the flashing cameras of the media, he threw his arms around her, pulling her tightly against his chest.
"I’m so sorry," Julian whispered into her hair, his voice choked with emotion. "I’m so sorry I had to hurt you, Clara. I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you."
Clara pulled back slightly, looking up into the eyes of the man who had risked everything to keep her safe. She smiled, a tear of pure happiness rolling down her cheek. "You don't have to make up for anything, Julian. You saved me. We saved each other."
One year later, the Windsor-Crest Manor was completely transformed. The dark, stifling atmosphere of the Vance family's greed had been entirely washed away. The grand ballroom, once the site of Clara's public humiliation, was now open and bright, filled with the laughter of close friends, true allies, and children from the local orphanage that Clara now heavily sponsored.
The infamous infinity pool deck was beautifully decorated with thousands of white roses—not scattered in malice, but arranged in celebration.
Julian stood on the terrace, wearing a sharp, tailored suit, looking out over the peaceful Mediterranean sea. He felt a pair of soft hands wrap around his waist from behind. He turned around, smiling warmly as he looked at Clara, who was radiant in a simple, elegant white summer dress.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, velvet box. Inside was a flawless, custom-cut diamond ring—the true symbol of a love that had survived betrayal, framing, and the threat of death.
"Clara Montgomery," Julian said softly, kneeling on one knee on the lush green grass, repeating the posture from their painful past, but this time with absolute joy in his eyes. "You are the heartbeat of this family, the true queen of my life. Will you marry me, for real this time?"

Clara laughed through tears of pure happiness, throwing her arms around his neck. "Yes, Julian. A thousand times, yes."
As Julian slipped the ring onto her finger and pulled her into a passionate, loving kiss under the golden rays of the setting sun, the dark memories of the past faded into nothingness. They had faced the abyss, defeated the monsters, and finally found their perfect, unshakeable happily ever after.
